MAX MCGEE'S PROFILE
I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.
I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.
"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!
Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."
- TW/IFS, "All The World Is A Stage Dive"

Why (God Why) so many medieval fantasy games and so little of anything else?

It's an extreme closeup of a handgun; in the background there is a building on fire (below) and some satellite thingies in the sky (above).
What comes to mind from the username above you?
I vomited a little in my mouth when you used the words "scene movement". A movement has to accomplish something to be considered a movement. ;D

Some of the best ways I've found to enhance your creative output.
Agreed.
Likewise: do not draw all your inspiration from ONE thing.
Or, do; even if you don't, people will think you did anyway.

Ridiculous projects ideas you've had in the past/present.
There was a time when I wanted to do a Final Fantasy fangame that was a murder mystery rock opera I'm not kidding this is not a joke.
Also my current project, Mage Duel, has a bit of intentional silliness to it; not much, but more than anything else I've ever made.
Kingdom of Loathing IS an RPG.
Gee, ya think. (Please ignore the spells called "Force of Will", etc. in my project Mage Duel.)

I once tried to make an RPG version of the Kingdom of Loathing.
Kingdom of Loathing IS an RPG.
But then I found out MTG has a copyright.

My last game Solar Tear, isn't really completed, but I doubt you'll find anything more cyberpunk in rpgmaker unless eschalt decides to complete his Blade Runner game.
I am playing Solar Tear right now. I had to stop because of an annoying glitch where the facing becomes locked after the 'sneak past the gang' part. It just annoyed me too much. I'll try it again later, maybe pay that guy to protect me.
Plus, you should at least try Barkley. If you don't get it, then you don't have a sense of humour. Plus, it has a gameplay values that's off the walls.
My sense of humor is not one where I find anything that the GW Hivemind has created to be funny, sorry. Nothing against individual GW members.
#2 FREEDOM, the fact that you can use magic, dragons and swords etc gives people more freedom, they don't have to think of physics, or any scientific fact on how technology works like, omg I need to design a huge dragon but I have to design it that looks like it's doable etc. etc. etc.
They don't have to limit themselves to guns or whatever, imagine, a sword, a wand, a whatever in a modern day like this, people will think you're crazy, I mean starwars did it well but seriously, do you want to see star wars clones most of the time? I am a jedi and I shall levitate you and slash you and more complication for your Rpgmaker game. Realistic thinking also gets in the way as well, people need to think how the military works, ranking. Unless you want school boys/girls saving the world with ultra magic powers.
Medieval also gives way to mythical creatures, thus monsters, sure you can do it in modern setting, but you have to explain, oh, a huge chemical invasion occurred in the world and everyone morphed into monsters and we're the ones not infected despite the huge pollution that should've literally killed us.
Horror barely works, unless you're experienced in music/atmosphere setting and gorey 2d pixels or something like what taut/grave spirit's atmosphere and have more scary antics than the usual I'll scare you like this one.
And seriously, everyone likes to wield swords with their brute strength than chemical guns what so ever
Don't people enjoy thinking of workarounds/rationalizations for all of this shit? I know I do! I love it!
